I received my medical degree from the University of Miami, School of Medicine and completed residency in internal medicine at LDS Hospital in Salt Lake City, UT. I have practiced internal medicine for over 17 years and served in numerous medical leadership roles including the Board of Directors for the Utah Partnership for Healthy Weight (a non-profit public policy initiative) and the Davis County Health Board.

After accumulating 55 pounds of excess body fat, then undergoing a change of heart, I have vast experience in matters of health and real passion for fitness. My transformation to a much healthier person (and physician) during my mid forties provides credibility above and beyond my medical certifications. Therefore I am equipped to help just about anyone in the pursuit of their health dreams. I know how to empower people to improve their health, no matter their limitations or medical diagnoses.

Having practiced medicine for almost two decades, as well as becoming a fitness expert, I can provide clarity to one’s health picture, therefore you can expect an unbiased assessment and plan of action. I believe medical care and one’s health are entirely separate universes. One consultation with me will prove that.

Everyone should understand what they can do in a proactive, natural way to secure health and happiness. Medical testing, medical procedures and prescription medications often complicate matters without ever making us healthier. Don’t settle for a complicated regimen of chronic disease care, an inferior form of health, when you can have the real thing! Be bold and improve your health fate right now! We can help.

Wellness Occupational Therapist, Certified Nutrition Coach

Meet Claudia: She is a lifestyle and Wellness Occupational Therapist and Certified Nutrition Coach specializing in obesity and chronic disease. She received her education at Florida International University with a BS in Biology and a Masters in Occupational Therapy. As an Occupational Therapist she has helped patients in various settings including hospitals, home health and pediatrics to re-gain health, quality of life and independence. She found her true passion while working with her husband, Dr. Charles Harpe, in addressing obesity and reversing chronic disease. This new focus was reinforced as she experienced her own health problems secondary to a prescription side effect that led to her experiencing symptoms of leaky gut and autoimmune disease. Her own journey to wellness has helped Claudia become passionate about the healing power of nutrition and healing foods, and has led to her focus on Nutrition and Health Promotion with her clients as a means to losing weight, reversing chronic disease and gaining lasting energy and vitality. Her foundations in therapy, health and nutrition have led her to coaching clients in introducing and developing healthy habits and shifts in nutritional choices and activities that make a drastic impact on their health. Claudia also promotes the Doctor designed Naturvore diet which is a nutrient dense, whole food diet with plenty of healthy fats and lean protein, vegetables, fruits, nuts and legumes. However, she believes each person is unique in their dietary needs and health conditions; therefore, together, she develops a personalized dietary plan to suit her client’s individual sensitivities, needs and preferences.

When she is not working, you can find Claudia in a fitness or yoga class at the Asheville Racquet Club, hiking, walking her dogs Teddy and Max or cooking meals for the family and hanging out with her husband and three teenagers.
