Botox is FDA-approved and is quite safe. It may result in minimal side effects that fade quickly.

For optimal safety, it is important that the patient is approved for treatment during a consultation with an experienced professional. In addition, the procedure must be performed by a qualified and skilled professional using genuine Botox products.

Patients with fine facial wrinkles are excellent candidates for Botox. Botox is suitable for shallow wrinkles like glabellar lines, horizontal forehead lines, chin wrinkles, and crow’s feet around the eyes.

The best candidates have realistic goals. Candidates must not be allergic to any of the ingredients in this neuromodulator product. Candidates must not be pregnant, breastfeeding, or taking medications for muscle spasms.

The Botox procedure is approved for patients 18 years old and above. Most experts agree that patients in their mid-to-late 20s and early 30s are ideal candidates for Botox since this is when most people develop visible wrinkles that require treatment.

Botox can be used preventatively to avoid premature aging, or it can be used to smooth away existing fine wrinkles and to ensure they do not deepen.

The Botox injection procedure can last 20 minutes or less depending on the issues being treated. The treatment areas will be cleansed before marking the injection sites. A topical numbing cream may be applied for the convenience of the patient.

The injections will be delivered to the treatment areas, and the markings will then be removed.

Patients can get back to their regular activities with little to no recovery time. Mild pain, swelling, bruising, or redness may be experienced after the procedure. Aftercare instructions will be provided to the patient.

Results appear in several days and will last for three to four months. Follow-up treatments will be necessary to maintain the results.

• Avoid tretinoin products.
• Do not bend or lie down.
• Do not drink alcohol.
• Avoid excessive heat exposure.
• Avoid exposure to extreme cold temperatures.
• Do not get a spray tan.
• Avoid overconsumption of caffeine.
• Do not put ice directly on skin.
• Avoid sleeping on your face or any treatment area on the first night.
• Do not take hot showers or baths.
• Do not take aspirin, ibuprofen, or vitamin E within 24 hours after treatment.
• Do not take pain relievers that thin the blood.
• Avoid tanning within two weeks after injection.
• Avoid touching, rubbing, or putting physical pressure on the treatment area.

The results will start to show three to five days after treatment, and full effects can be achieved after 10 to 14 days. The results will last for around four months. Maintenance injections are required every four months to prolong results.
