How It Works
During a sclerotherapy treatment, a specialized sclerosing solution is injected directly into the damaged vein. This solution causes the vein to collapse and seal shut, allowing blood to naturally reroute to healthier veins. Aftercare
Sclerotherapy requires little to no downtime, and most patients can return to normal activities shortly after treatment. Strenuous exercise, high-intensity cardio, and weightlifting should be avoided for approximately 48 hours or as directed by your provider. Hot baths, saunas, swimming pools, tanning beds, and sun exposure should also be avoided in the initial recovery period. Compression garments may be recommended, particularly for treatments involving the legs, to support healing and optimize results. Personalized aftercare instructions will be provided following your treatment.
